Prestige Oak Engineered European Oak Flooring
Prestige Oak engineered timber flooring combines the natural beauty of genuine European Oak with advanced engineered construction designed for the conditions found across Australia and New Zealand. Widely specified by architects, designers and flooring professionals, Prestige Oak offers wide plank formats, durable pre-finished coatings and installation flexibility suited to modern residential and commercial interiors.
Manufactured using a multi-ply hardwood core and a genuine European Oak wear layer, Prestige Oak engineered flooring delivers the authentic look of solid timber flooring while providing greater dimensional stability. The engineered construction improves resistance to humidity fluctuations, reducing the risk of movement such as cupping, shrinkage or expansion commonly associated with traditional solid timber floors.
Prestige Oak floors are available in a range of popular wide plank sizes including 190mm and 220mm boards, creating a contemporary timber floor aesthetic suited to modern homes, apartments and commercial spaces. Each board features a lightly brushed surface, micro-bevelled edges and a durable water-based UV matte lacquer coating that enhances the natural oak grain while providing a highly wear-resistant finish.
Engineered Oak Flooring Built for Performance
Prestige Oak flooring is constructed using a layered hardwood core bonded with a solid European Oak surface layer. This engineered structure improves floor stability and allows the valuable oak resource to be concentrated where it is needed most — the wear layer.
Key construction features include:
Genuine European Oak wear layer (2mm – 6mm depending on product)
Multi-ply hardwood core for enhanced structural stability
Light brushed oak surface texture
Micro-bevelled edges on all four sides
Water-based UV matte protective coating
Low VOC emissions rated below E1 standards
This construction provides the natural appearance of solid oak flooring with improved performance in modern building environments.
Click and Tongue & Groove Installation Options
Prestige Oak engineered flooring is available with both Click floating floor systems and traditional Tongue & Groove profiles, providing flexibility for installers and builders.
Click systems are designed for floating installation over acoustic underlay with an integrated moisture barrier, delivering faster installation and strong board locking performance. Tongue & Groove boards are typically installed using direct-fix adhesive methods, producing a solid underfoot feel and excellent acoustic performance.
Both installation methods are widely used in Australian and New Zealand construction projects and must be installed according to professional flooring guidelines.
Natural Oak Character and Timber Grades
European Oak is a natural timber and each plank displays unique grain patterns and colour variation. Prestige Oak flooring is available in different visual grades depending on the desired interior style.
ABCD grade features natural knots, grain variation and organic oak character, while AB grade provides a cleaner appearance with fewer knots and minimal sapwood for more refined architectural interiors. Natural oak characteristics such as mineral streaks, ray flecks and tonal variation are part of the authentic appearance of European Oak flooring.
Suitable Applications for Engineered Oak Flooring
Prestige Oak engineered flooring is suitable for installation across a wide range of interior spaces including residential homes, apartments and selected commercial environments. The flooring can also be installed over hydronic in-slab heating systems when installed according to manufacturer recommendations.
Timber flooring should not be installed in wet areas such as bathrooms or laundries where moisture exposure is excessive.
Sustainable Timber Flooring Choice
Engineered oak flooring is a resource-efficient alternative to traditional solid timber flooring. By using a layered core construction with a genuine oak wear layer, the manufacturing process uses significantly less oak while still delivering the appearance and durability of natural timber flooring.
Timber floors also offer environmental benefits including lower manufacturing energy requirements compared with other common building materials and the ability to store carbon within the wood fibres for the life of the floor.
Prestige Oak flooring is designed to deliver long-term durability with warranties typically including a limited lifetime structural warranty, a residential wear warranty and a commercial warranty, supporting its use in both residential and light commercial applications.
